Group Trips~ Sample Itinerary

The Herrick Elevator offers your group an outstanding educational experiences.  Add a tour for your group for just $75 per day.  
Below is one of our favorite itineraries  We'll personalize as necessary, due to your needs or the weather.   Email us for more information.  

Sunday
Arrive between 2 and 4pm
4pm--Head for the Missouri River for an evening  swim and picnic
9pm--Return to Herrick Elevator, showers, bedtime

Monday
9am--History Presentation:  How Todd Lost His County (and found it again out west)
9:45am--Drive to Fort Randall, watch for eagles at wildlife refuge
11amdrive to YST headquarters, visit church, monument, buffalo herd
Noon picnic
1pm--return to Herrick.  The afternoon is yours.

Tuesday
9am--Visit Milk's Camp:  Episcopal Church, Congregational Church, Catholic Cemetery, Day School Building/pow wow site, UCC church, visit with Judy Hanson (quilts, beading, old photos)
12noon--picnic at Milk's Camp
Afternoon and Evening:  your time

Wednesday
9am--go to Whetstone Bay, Whetstone Agency site, travel up Hwy 1806 if weather allows, Burke Lake picnic, spirit mound
12noon--picnic at Burke Lake
Afternoon and Evening: your time

Thursday
9am--Homesteader Tour:  Travel along the former railroad in Gregory County to visit our local towns.  Stops include Pete's Taxidermy, Oscar Micheaux homestead site, Gregory Buttes Observation deck, Old Dallas and New Dallas.
12noon--picnic at Gregory Park

Friday
This day is all yours.

Saturday
Check out before noon.  See you next year!
